We have an opportunity for a mid-level Software Engineer with experience in Matlab/Simulink in our Aberdeen, Maryland location. Up to 10% travel may be required.
Overview
In this position you will use the Matlab / Simulink platform to develop and maintain real time software that simulates a weapon / target engagement and uses the simulation states to control a complex closed loop Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) electro-optical laboratory (such as rotary filter wheels and 3 DOF motion simulator). You will design software to interface with various types of HITL sensor systems and develop an automated test suite for experimentation. You will use Matlab to post process simulation results and create results summaries for analysis and publication.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have some or all of the following skills:
The ideal candidate will have some or all of the following skills:
- Experience with Matlab and Simulink.
- Experience developing real-time software with Mathworks xPC-Target or Concurrent Simulation Workbench.
- Experience working with data acquisition systems.
- Experience specifying, installing, and controlling electromechanical automation systems (gimbals, motion tables, linear stages).
- Basic knowledge of controls theory, aerodynamics, coordinate systems, and rigid body dynamics.
- An understanding of basic optics.
- The ability to work independently, think creatively, and contribute to the big picture.
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Math.

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI DoD Security Clearance, which must be applied for and granted as a condition of continued employment.
